I found a website where college students can upload their lecture notes and get monetary rewards (Gift Cards), while other students get the benefit of getting the lecture notes for free. This website is for college students, but I am pretty sure it will be available for high school students soon.
Is this a good idea? As a future teacher I think this is not helpful. It is really hard to get students to pay attention in class as it is, imagine now that they have access to this. With this website teachers will have 8 out of 20 students paying attention.
If we see it from the students’ point of view this is good, we don’t really need to pay attention in class, and maybe we don’t even need to go to class, we can just go to the website and get the lecture notes for free. The other possible outcome could be to take it as a way to make money, which could be good, because students would be learning and making money to help themselves.

I think our school (SPC) doesnt know about this website, theres nothing from SPC students.
ReplyDeleteAnd Yermen, this site may help some students but will it really *help*? I guess we can all take the easy way out, but in the end those who go to class are the ones who come out on top (usually).
